Ichiran Ramen (Shibuya)

Ichiran Ramen (Shibuya)

This place is about ramen (ラーメン). I have never seen so much dedication of a restaurant into a single product. It is by far the best ramen I have ever had.

But it is not only because of the ramen that this place is worth visiting. Just getting the noodles is an experience by itself: you pay first in an automatic machine that resembles an ATM, the free places are shown outside in a sign with some lights, all places are individually divided in a bar by wooden blocks that can be removed, waiters move around in an inside corridor so you never see them, and the order sheet is amazing. Take a look of the order sheet here. You can select the sauce, green onion quantity, garlic content, noodles tenderness. If you do the numbers you can have up to 9,000 different possibilites.!!!!

Click here for the Web Page: Japanese , English.

There are several branches of this ramen restaurant. The one I visited was near Shibuya Subway Station. To get there follow the directions shown below in the map.

Click here for the Google Street View for the restaurant.

var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-20136192-2’]);
_gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]);

(function() {
var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true;
ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’;
var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();
